As a professional interventionist, I’ve worked with countless families desperate to help a loved one struggling with addiction. The emotions are raw—fear, frustration, hope, and sometimes, exhaustion. And while there are many intervention models out there, I’ve found that the ARISE® Intervention Model is the most effective, compassionate, and empowering approach.

What is the ARISE® Intervention Model?
Unlike traditional interventions that rely on surprise confrontations, ARISE® (A Relational Intervention Sequence for Engagement) takes a collaborative and transparent approach. It’s an invitation-based process that encourages the person struggling with addiction to take part in their own recovery journey, rather than feeling forced into it.
The goal? To build a long-term support network that continues to uplift and encourage recovery long after the intervention. This model shifts the focus from blame and coercion to healing and empowerment—not just for the individual, but for the entire family system.

Why I Believe in ARISE®
As someone who takes a holistic approach to intervention, I believe that true healing happens when we address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. ARISE® embodies this by:
✔️ Involving the entire support system – Addiction thrives in isolation. ARISE® fosters connection and accountability through a structured Family Motivation to Change® process.
✔️ Encouraging voluntary participation – This reduces resistance and defensiveness, making it far more likely that the person will actually engage in treatment and stay the course.
✔️ Providing long-term guidance – The intervention doesn’t end when your loved one says “yes” to treatment. ARISE includes three levels of care, ensuring continued family support and relapse prevention planning.
The Power of a Holistic Approach
In my experience, interventions work best when they are compassionate, non-confrontational, and rooted in connection. Addiction isn’t just about substance use—it’s about pain, trauma, and disconnection. That’s why my interventions integrate elements of:
🌿 Mindfulness and self-care – Encouraging the whole family to prioritize emotional wellness.
🌿 Therapeutic support – Helping families process their emotions and break unhealthy patterns.
🌿 Strength-based healing – Focusing on what’s possible, not just what’s broken.
ARISE aligns with my belief that people don’t need ultimatums—they need understanding, accountability, and a roadmap to recovery.

Choosing an interventionist is a big decision. If you’re considering an ARISE®-based approach, I recommend working with someone trained and certified through reputable organizations like AIS (Association of Intervention Specialists).
